Winter Skincare

If it was up to me I probably would never leave the house during winter....sure winter does have its charm and can be quite beautiful with the snow, but the next day that snow becomes slush and that slush turns into a huge puddle, where then I end up having to guess how deep that puddle is and am I capable of jumping over it. That is why the city developers of Montreal sure know what they're doing by building an underground city, but we don't have an underground city where I live therefore my skin has to endure the harsh winter, but I have come prepared with these essential skincare items for the winter time.

Here is a list of my winter skincare gems:

  • Face Wash: Caudalie Gentle Cleansing Milk  is a gentle face wash that will help hydrate your face and is a great substitute for your everyday face wash. This face wash feels like a moisturizer, and to get that squeaky clean feeling I use my clarisonic brush so I know I'm getting all that gunk out of my face.
  • Toner: NARS Multi-Action Hydrating Toner is great for that extra boost of hydration, it contains no alcohol and helps brightens your skin. This is a great toner, since it's gentle for all skin types and helps even out your skin tone.
  • Moisturizer: Ole Henriksen Truth Revealed Vitamin C Creme  with the colder weather, I've been using this face cream more often than their Vitamin C serum for my morning routine. I find this product to be moisturizing and I love how it has an SPF 15, since it's always crucial to stay protected. This is a great substitute or addition to their TruthVitamin C serum, just adds more moisture which is great for the colder seasons.
  • Face Oil: Jurlique Purely Age Defying Firming Face Oil if you prefer using a face oil, this is a great alternative and helps lock in moisture without feeling like a heavy weight oil. The scent is simply lovely and the oil absorbs quickly into your skin.
  • Body Moisturizer: Jergens Shea Beauty Oil is the last item to complete my oil addiction (that doesn't sound pretty) but I have completely converted over to oils as oppose to lotions and creams. What's great about this Jergen product is that a little goes a long way and doesn't leave  your body feeling greasy or sticky. Instead it leaves my body feeling silky smooth and I don't have to worry about staining my clothes after applying. I much prefer using this than my regular lotion since the oil penetrates the skin, leaving my skin soft all winter long.
  • Alternative Moisturizer: If lotions are more your thing, then the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream is for you. This product is highly recommend for people who deal with severely dry skin. I like how this product is made with simple ingredients and contains to fragrance, so it doesn't leave your skin irritated and helps soothes and relives your skin from any harsh winter irritation.
So there you have it a complete list of skincare gems to help you prepare for the winter season!

  1. Okay, these products look fabulous. I like the idea of beauty oil but haven't warmed up to it completely. I don't blame you for wanting to be a hermit in winter. :] // ▲ itsCarmen.com ▲
