What's in My Travel Beauty Bag

    Take me back...please

This past week I vacationed in Mexico, what a wonderful break from my mundane routine,  and while packing I decided not to complicate things by over-packing...well by my definition of packing the basic necessities.

Staying in a resort for the first half of my trip I knew I would most likely be lounging by the pool or doing day trips, so the need to apply makeup wasn't necessary. However, for the dinners I wanted to have fun so I definitely packed on the red lipstick for the countless selfies...

Here is a list of items I brought (keep in mind these items are more for a tropical or hot weather climate, can't exactly be sporting some of these items for a trip to Aspen) I also packed a lot of travel size products.

Make Up:

  • Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in SPF 20 - just because you're on vacation doesn't mean you neglect protecting your skin from the sun. Also love the light weight product especially in the humidity.
  • NARS Laguna Bronze - Cult favorite, always a must for me
  • NARS Deep Throat - Hot pink blush which complements well with a  bronze skin giving you that ideal sun kissed cheeks.
  • MAC Love Joy - This was definitely my favorite item to wear for this trip, it's beautiful blush that gives you that gives you that illuminating effect. I love how lightweight this product is and can provide so much color to the face.
  • Benefit Ooh La Lift - After one too many margaritas this will help brighten your eyes and make you look like you did get that 8 hours of sleep as a oppose to crawling back to your room at 7am from Señor Frogs.
  • Benefit High Beam - To me you can never have too many products that can help bring that glow to your face and when you're carrying travel pack sizes it just means bring on the products.
  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Tube Original  -  This is a popular product so you know I need to bring it where ever I go.
  • Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow Palette  - This product I got last year and has been discontinued but is similar to their Warm Eye Palette , but with more neutral tones. I really didn't want to pack too many eye shadows so I chose one palette with natural colors, and when vacationing I much prefer doing something quick.
  • Kat Von D Autograph Eyeliner  - Quite honestly I never ended up using any eyeliner but I do love the Kat Von D liquid eyeliner, however they are constantly out of stock and it's like hunting a pot of gold for this gem.
  • Too Faced Perfect Eyes Eyeliner  Travel Size in Black - I love Too Faced eyeliners they have a creamy texture and long-lasting wear too.
  • Maybelline Falsies Volume Express in Waterproof - This is one of my favorite mascaras and when your day consists of swimming and lounging by the beach not only do you need a product to hold the curl but to last all day and won't fade away after a jump in the water.
  • Bite Lipstick in Pomegranate  and Winterberry (Limited Edition from their Winter Collection) - Love wearing lipsticks easy to apply and makes a great statement. For this vacation I wanted bright and bold colors. Pomegranate is a beautiful bright red with tints of orange. Winterberry is a darker version of the color Rhubarb but with more of a red tone. This color made me feel very sophisticated...ah I really hope it's not a limited color...why must you do this to me Bite Beauty?
  • MAC Lipsticks Heroine and Kinda Sexy  - The color Heroine is definitely one of my top favorites, I love this color it really just makes a bold statement and I had so much fun wearing this purple shade. I love how this color is great for all seasons. Kinda Sexy is great matte nude with a subtle pink tone is complements well with a sun kissed face.

Skincare: Although on vacation it's important to maintain your skincare routine

  • Ole Henriksen African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser in Travel Size -  This gives you that squeaky clean feeling without being harsh on your skin and has a lovely scent of oranges. Definitely will consider purchasing it in the full size. After getting off a plane I immediately just want to wash my face and get out all of that gunk from traveling all day.
  • Origins GinZing Refreshing Face Mask- This is a great product to have while traveling. It will bring back the moisture into your face especially after a long day of traveling on a plane with that horrible recycled air constantly flowing. It's a nice gel consistency which is easy to apply. I tend to wear this while unpacking, it's all about killing two birds with one.
  • Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask - Sometimes you just may just need a little more help to clear your skin or calm it down. Traveling can take a toll on one's skin, and while on vacation you simply don't want to fret on an unwanted blemish. So perhaps an extra mask can do the trick. The Origins Clear Improvement Mask, clears pores and strips away all that unwanted debris.
  • Lush Let The Good Times Roll - This is one of my favorite exfoliates and it's great to travel with since it does not have a liquid consistency so no need to worry about leaking while traveling.
  • Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Vitamin C  - If you've read any of my blog post in the past then you are very much so aware of my undying love for this product and how it's a must have for me. Simply can't travel without it.
  • Ole Henriksen Truth Revealed Vitamin C SPF 15 Cream - You can never have enough SPF products, especially while vacationing in a hot climate weather. If you need that extra moisture here is a great product for you, not only brings moisture but protection and Vitamin C.
  • Ole Henriksen Total Truth Vitamin C Eye Cream - The skin around your eyes are the most sensitive and delicate area, once again Ole Henriksen is here to protect your skin by providing an eye cream of SPF 15. I love the idea of having a separate SPF cream specifically for your eyes.  The best part of the Ole Henriksen Vitamin C skincare is that you can easily purchase them all together in a set for $45 at Sephora here
  • Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist Travel Size - Bought this product in a set and was excited to use during my travels. I thought this product worked well and has a lovely scent as well. I would say this product is best used for humid and hot climates.
  • Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare  Alpha Beta Glow Pads - With all that SPF on your face, how does one expect to get a tan? Well the Dr. Dennis Alpha Beta Glow Pads are definitely the way to go. Similar to their original products, it will help eliminate any blemishes while simultaneously acting as a self-tanner...I mean I guess you could call this a miracle worker? This can be applied either day or night, I prefer applying it a night right before my moisturizer, since I know these pads will help work its magic over night.
  • Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Overnight Detox Oil - This is definitely one of my favorite face oils since it can do so much other than providing hydration. I definitely have been enjoying the hype on face oils since I can truly see a difference.
  • Clairsonic - Last but certainly not least is my Clairsonic Brush, I use the deep pores cleansing brush and without this item I wouldn't be able to accomplish a rejuvenated cleansed face. This item is the equivalence of having your toothbrush, you simply can't skip a day without brushing....

Hair Care: I brought the travel size Alterna Caviar set from Sephora and was definitely satisfied with these products and love how they're sulfate free, anti-aging, and has Vitamin C.

  • Caviar Anti-Aging Replenishing Moisture Shampoo
  • Caviar Anti-Aging Replenishing Moisture Conditioner
  • Caviar Anti-Aging Replenishing Moisture Milk  - Great leave-in conditioner before applying heat
  • Caviar CC Cream 10-in-1 - This product provides a lot for the hair, smoothness, shine, heat protection, and the best part UV protection, which makes it an ideal product for the hot weathered climates. When out in the sun, especially if you have highlights or dyed hair this product will protect your color from the strong sun light. Even your hair needs protection from the sun
  • Dry Shampoo - forgot to add this to the photo, but I simply cannot travel without dry shampoo. It's such a life-saver especially when traveling, you don't want to spend most of your vacation doing your hair so definitely invest in dry shampoo it just makes things a lot easier.

Body Care: When I'm not adding SPF these are my essential two items to have while on vacation in a hot weathered climate

  • Jergens Shea Beauty Oil - A great moisturizer, a few drops can do the trick, and just gives your body that silky smooth feeling.
  • Victoria's Secret Rockin' Body Leg Shine - Similar to a bronzer but gives your legs more of a shine and that illuminating effect. Fun way to apply too, since all you need to do i roll it on and no need to blend.
